The Eastland Area Strategies Team (EAST) is an independent volunteer board.
The mission of CharlotteEAST (Charlotte East Area Strategies Team) is to bring together businesses, neighborhoods, non-profits and civic organizations to develop and strengthen economic and social capital in the East Charlotte communities.
CharlotteEAST serves as an advocate for the area’s needs and helps to market the diversity and unique assets that make East Charlotte a vibrant place to live, work and play.
Charlotte’s East Side is home to over 160,000 people! That makes us equivalent in population to North Carolina’s 7th largest city (Cary, NC); more populated than Wilmington (#8), Asheville (#12) and twice as populated as Gastonia (#13). Our boundaries are roughly east of Uptown/I-277, south of UNCC, north of Randolph Rd and west of Mint Hill (link to map) but we welcome anyone who appreciates CharlotteEAST.
CharlotteEAST gives you the power of our neighborhoods much like the NextDoor App connects you with your immediate neighbors. EAST connects neighborhoods with each other, as well as with local businesses, non-profits and elected officials so we can all help each other. When we come together the east side is a powerful force in our city and region.
